I have always been fascinated by the ability of people to overcome or triumph during hardship
and challenge. The neuroplasticity of our brains and the way it allows us to create and modify
neural connections, replacing unhealthy thoughts or behaviors with new healthy patterns, is very
interesting to me. I hold so much hope for my clients and the incredible changes that can be
made within them when given a safe space to share and work through hard things. I view
counseling as a joint effort between client and counselor to navigate these challenges and to find
ways to bring healing, hope, and healthy connections with those in their lives.

After graduating from Texas A &M University with a degree in psychology in 1998, I spent
time working with foster children suffering with emotional disturbances and various
psychological traumas. Having endured my own childhood trauma, I developed a heart for
helping other people struggling to overcome traumatic experiences and post-traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD). I am open to working with various mental health challenges and life transitions
including military personnel, first responders, spiritual abuse survivors, cult survivors, clergy,
spouses of clergy, victims of sexual assault, and victims of other traumatic experiences. My
approach is a mix of person-centered and cognitive behavior therapy, with an emphasis on
attachment theory and Internal Family Systems. Additionally, I am trained in both Eye
Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Sand Tray Therapy. I am a graduate
of Colorado Christian University with a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling.
