Laura Anzai, LPC
Laura is currently taking new clients.
I recognize that it takes courage to enter counseling, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you. We all need to feel seen and heard in both our beauty and our pain. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be honest about what you are carrying and begin to understand the experiences that have shaped you.
I especially enjoy working with teen girls and adults. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity and compassion, with room for humor along the way. I draw from trauma-informed care, attachment-based therapy, family systems, Narrative Focused Trauma Care, the mind-body connection, and cognitive behavioral approaches. I want to understand you as a whole person, not simply focus on the symptoms that brought you to counseling.
I began my career working in crisis intervention, residential treatment for teens, foster care and adoption, trauma care, and counseling with children, teens, and adults. After 10 years in the mental health field, I stepped away from counseling to raise my three adopted children, including homeschooling a child with special needs. Those experiences deepened my understanding of family, attachment, identity, and the complexity of the stories we carry.
I have completed Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level 1 through The Allender Center at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology and am currently completing Level 2. I also bring meaningful cross-cultural awareness and familiarity with Asian cultures and values, including sensitivity to the ways culture, family expectations, identity, and intergenerational experiences can shape our lives.
My hope is to help you heal deep wounds, understand yourself with greater compassion, and discover that your past does not have to define your future. Together, we can work toward greater freedom, connection, and wholeness.

A Little More About Me
My husband and I have been married for more than 25 years, and we have three children. We love being on the water and pretty much any kind of watersport. Our family also includes Lucky, our 65-pound poodle and service dog, and Happy, our 10-pound “disgruntled mutt.”
